How to Avoid Amazon Trademark & Copyright Infringement (IPR)

Encountering Amazon trademark and copyright infringement cases is very frustrating for business owners and merchants as these cases, regardless of its outcome, will definitely slow down the business and take its toll negatively. Amazon can be very strict with trademark and copyright infringement in which they came up with Brand Registry to establish eligible brand owners and give them authority to file for a complaint for cases of brand erosion, rogue selling and protect their intellectual property rights.

Brand owners in Amazon often enroll their registered trademarks to the Brand Registry for them to be recognized. This privilege gives them a level of authority over products which may have their brand name on them. Any merchant or store who tries to sell these products without authorization from the brand owners can be charged with Amazon trademark infringement or Amazon copyright infringement. As a brand owner, it is your sole responsibility to have your brand registered and own trademark rights for your manufactured products. Be aware that the situation is different if a patent protected product is sold under a different brand.

In Amazon, white labeling and private labeling are very common business practices. This development could lead to a lot of confusion with Amazon trademark and copyright infringement cases since most of the products are generally the same except they have different brands. In this wiki article, we will tackle different tips and tricks on how to avoid Amazon trademark and copyright infringement cases out of your white labeling or private labeling business.

Avoiding Amazon Trademark or Copyright Infringement Claim

Amazon has a set of procedures which a business owner should take to file for a trademark or copyright infringement claim. The procedures are provided on their website including the online form which the business owner should fill up and submit to Amazon. The site replies as soon as possible and will right away take action on a trademark or copyright infringement claim as the website honors intellectual properties. It might even revoke a listing until the solution is clarified. Read more about the exact instructions directly from Amazon on their page.

If the business owner is enrolled in the Brand Registry department, he or she can use the Report a Violation (RAV) tool which is a part of the program. The RAV tool can also be used to report other violations on Amazon and is not only limited for Amazon intellectual property rights violations. If you prefer to submit a claim via writing an email, you can also do so as long as you provide the following information which should be included in the email;

  • Physical or electronic signature of the business owner
  • Description or link of the material which is claimed to be infringed upon
  • Description or link of the material claimed to infringing an original product somewhere in Amazon be it the packaging, image/photo used, text on the product details etc.
  • Personal or company address, contact details (phone number, email etc.)
  • Any further information which can help Amazon address the complaint
  • Statement saying the disputed use was not authorized by you or your company
  • Statement saying in which your claim is accurate under penalty or perjury

When it comes to image restrictions and product details page ownerships, there are instances wherein Amazon cannot enforce infringement cases. Product details pages become permanent in Amazon even if the business is already defunct which leaves some pages irrelevant because of inactivity. Also, when you use copyrighted images or photos for the product details page, you are right away granting Amazon and its affiliates a non-exclusive, royalty-free authorization to have access and rights of publicity over the said photo/image. This factor means other sellers can use it on their behalf without violating Amazon trademark infringement.

If you are notified of sellers and Amazon businesses which list items that do not match, you can also report them directly to Amazon using the RAV tool. If any of your copyrighted images have been used by other sellers without your consent, then you can right away report this to Amazon as well or by using the RAV tool if you are registered in the Brand Registry department.

In addition to that, Amazon does not take action on IP infringement from other countries for which the takedown was requested. For example, if a trademark or copyright is registered in UK and you ask Amazon to act up on an Amazon patent infringement here in the US, then Amazon will most likely reject or not entertain your complaint.

When it comes to exclusive distributors, Amazon respects selective rights on this aspect but reserves the manufacturer’s rights to engage their distributors along with MAP (minimum advertised price) agreements for the products. Any violation to these agreements will not fall under Amazon trademark and copyright infringement since these agreements are only between the manufacturer and the seller. Amazon will not enforce authority nor provide assistance for these violations.

A big exception here are design and utility patents. While Amazon is very strict with respect to brand use and copyrights, it’s significantly harder to go after people selling a protected product under a different brand. There is usually more evidence required when it is about product design and similar cases where more complex infringements take place. It has become harder because there were a lot of bogus claims just targeting competitors in the past. Read more here.

Summary

Avoiding Amazon trademark or copyright infringement claims is not really a tough task as long as you know the basics in respecting intellectual properties. It may tend to get confusing with white labeling or private labeling but with the right documents and legal transactions, you can be deemed safe from Amazon trademark or copyright infringement claims.

There are a few instances wherein a company has been sued for Amazon trademark infringement but the reason behind is because the manufacturer they have dealt with for their white label product is not the authorized seller or dealer of the product. They are liable for the complaint even though it is not directly their fault and aiming copyright infringement was not part of the plan. These instances goes to show, your due diligence is also a big part to make sure you avoid Amazon trademark or copyright infringement claims.

Selling Private Label Products on Amazon: Focus on Your Product

The e-commerce giant Amazon is home to thousands of merchants worldwide whether they are selling originally manufactured products, reselling other branded products or acting as middleman for other online merchants. Some of the best selling products in Amazon are actually private label products–items which are originally manufactured by private label manufacturing companies and just are acquired and sold by other companies under their own brand name.

Private labeling is easily one of the most popular business model when selling products in Amazon. But picking up this business option does not mean it would automatically mean you will raking lots of cash out of private labeling. It is a popular business model but not an easy way to make money on Amazon. There are a lot of factors to it from branding, marketing and promotions which has to be covered. Selling private label products is not as easy as commonly claimed, but definitely still feasible these days. In this wiki guide, we will teach you the right way on how to sell products on Amazon.

5 Easy Steps of Selling Products on Amazon

1. Identify your market and pick the right products to sell

You do not want to jump at Amazon head first by selling products that have tough competition and significantly low demand. Your initial step has to identify and research about your market for you to be able to determine when to sell and what to sell in Amazon.

Amazon experts say this initial step has been proven to be very crucial for Amazon merchants whether they are still looking for their first private label product or looking to add other products in their roster. This is a crucial stage wherein some of them end up stagnant and is unable to move forward the ranks because they end up picking the wrong products to sell in Amazon.

The following factors have to be considered when choosing the right selling products in Amazon. Product value, shipping costs, seasonality, product demand, sourceability and competition.

A great site to visit to check on potential products and innovative product ideas is the Amazon Best Sellers list. There, you can scope products and filter them to make sure you find products with less competition despite a high demand. You must be rational enough to weigh these categories and even dig deeper down into Amazon sub-categories. Other sites you can visit for finding right products for private labeling are 1) eBay 2) Reddit 3) Alltop 4) Alibaba 5and 5) Flippa.

The by-far best way is to get products ideas though BEFORE they are becoming popular. Try to think yourself of something that is currently underrated and that could sell well when branded and marketed correctly.

2. Get to know the right suppliers and manufacturers

The sites mentioned above can be a good source of suppliers and manufacturers as long as you know how to engage with people who are also on Amazon. If you are keen enough to do your research, you can be caught surprised to find out that a big percentage of these suppliers and manufacturers come from or are based in China. Simply filter your potential suppliers and manufacturers based on minimum order requirements, materials, service fees, price, manufacturing lead time and other factors for you to make sure you are working with someone who fits right on to your budget and needs.

You can also use Google and directly search for these suppliers and manufacturers. Most of them have websites and sometimes social media pages to make sure they are accessible via the internet and keep them closer to their current clients and potential customers. We cannot assure of their customer services when inquiring for them online, but there are far few of them who instantly reply to inquiries in just a matter of hours.

You can also find these suppliers and manufacturers at trade fairs and wholesale markets. Most of these private label companies display and showcase their products at these events and it would be easier for you to talk to them directly in these trade fairs and wholesale markets then ask for their contact details.

Last but not the least, you can work with a third party manufacturing company for strategic sourcing solutions. These companies can help you to get an edge over your completion in terms of price and customization.

3. Design and modify your products

Once you have decided which product/s you are going to pick for private labeling. You now have to design, brand and package these products to make them your own. Depending on your budget, you can choose to stick a simple label on the product or choose for it to undergo full-scale custom product design which could be inclusive of instruction manuals, ingredient lists and other product information.

Always keep in mind branding is a huge factor to selling private label products and marketing so better spend some cash on it by hiring professional graphic designers and packaging companies to stabilize your brand. Your investment for branding a generic product will surely pay off later on compared to simply paying for less efforts to transform a generic product to sell on Amazon.

4. Analyzing fulfillment options when selling products on Amazon

There are two options available when it comes to fulfillment when selling products on Amazon. The first choice is to store all your product in-house and the second it to pick Amazon’s FBA or a similar program by a different fulfilment provider. You can take advantage of third-party fulfillment centers as long as you make sure it is a cheaper option compared to Amazon’s FBA program (which it usually is). The latter is a popular option for small businesses trying to sell private label products. Here are the exact cost for Amazon’s FBA program.

Your fulfillment process will have a huge impact on your ratings as an Amazon merchant selling private label products. You have to make sure you have an efficient fulfillment line before even going live at Amazon.

5. Go advertise and sell

With all the prerequisites mentioned above in place, you can now start to advertise and sell private label products at Amazon. Your marketing strategy will be your sole responsibility and you need to find creative methods in order to stand out in a huge marketplace such as Amazon. You can also incorporate social media marketing on to your merchandise as this is considered as the most effective platform to market and sell private label products at Amazon these days. There is no right or wrong when it comes to marketing, simply do whatever it takes to sell and make money.

4 Common Mistakes when Buying Products from China

The idea of purchasing products directly from suppliers based in China is perfect for businesses who want to enjoy cheap prices at reasonable quality for their products bought. Most of the products we see out there in the market today, whether garments, electronics or plastics are mostly manufactured in China which makes perfect sense if you are a businessman purchasing directly from factories or buying from China online to cut out the middleman.

Buying products from China is already a tried and tested strategy for people who are in the retail or e-commerce business. Getting contacts for manufacturers and suppliers who are based in China is not hard to do since they can simply be contacted via their websites and is just one Google or Alibaba away. However, the challenging part is to verify whether the products you are getting are of top quality, legit and can be customised. Simply because you are buying direct from China does not guarantee you are getting what you ordered for. Make sure that you are aware of common pitfalls and trading practises.

In this wiki article, we will teach you some tricks for common mistakes you should avoid when buying white label products from China. These tricks will help solidify your business trade and make sure you are only purchasing products which are legit and have attained quality standards.

1. Do not be enticed by trends

Earning money out of a fad and what is trendy is an automatic option for most businesses out there. A lot of businesses have grown to be successful simply by selling the right products overnight and it was mainly because of this right timing. For example, vape products or fidget spinners have been selling like hotcakes at the beginning. A lot of businesses took advantage of the trend and have become successful simply because of those products alone but later on expanded towards other related products then became stable in the industry.

However, the main issue is the choice of products to sell when the trendy item no longer becomes a fad. In the case of vape products, it was difficult to expand the business by selling other products simply because the vape industry was unestablished and there was no niche to target. When the product went out of the trend and so was the customers while the supply increased steadily.

When buying directly from China, do not let a trend dictate what to purchase from the transaction. Always look forward to have a long-term business and achieve customer retention out of your products. Settling with trends limits your business in terms of timing and it would be difficult to establish an identity as a store. Always look forward in buying products from China simply not because they are part of the ongoing trend or fad but instead think of a long term business.

Also, trendy items are the ones which are easily counterfeited or manufactured by bogus manufacturers at a lower quality. You would not want to be victimized of purchasing fake products simply because you were too excited of buying products from China influenced by the growing trend.

2. Embrace low value products

Low value products are often overlooked when buying in bulk from China because of reasons such as stiff competition, low added value and for having an insignificant profit out of these products considering shipping costs and importing fees. For example, you cannot increase the selling price of hairpins even if you put it inside fancy packaging or improve its aesthetics. The function will remain the same and so it will remain a generic product.

Based on our experience back in 2016, one of our clients started a food container business where they bought direct from China at a very cheap cost per piece. It was generally a brilliant business idea since they can sell it at a higher price later on after importing these products from China. Just serving to the right niche, have some small customisations that no one else has, and market it well, then you can even sell the most mundane cheap items.

3. Consumption products are often the most difficult

Highly consumed products, also known as fast-moving consumer goods, will always have their place in the market due to its consistent demand from consumers–this is what many people often say. However, competition will not always make it to translate into profit when you turn to these often consumed products as items to sell. Always keep in mind that when you buy products from China, these consumption products are automatic choices. If you keep them as an option, don’t be surprised if a thousand other business thought of the same choice as well.

The worst part of choosing highly consumed products when finding cheap stuff from China, there are already established companies and businesses who have been selling this type of products for a long time and it would be difficult for you to put up with them as a startup business. It would be a cut-throat competition and will be a very tough challenge for you to destabilize their sales channels. Additionally, there is often little room for customization and brand building (do you know your toothpick brand?).

4. Large products just take longer to ship–and are less competitive

You probably heard it before: Avoid choosing large sized products when direct buying from Chinese factories because you’d end up paying more for transportation and shipping costs compared to the actual market value of these products. Imagine purchasing wooden cabinets straight out of China and then sell them somewhere abroad. The costs for transporting and shipping these items will be too outstanding to apply on to their selling price and consumers will eventually find it too expensive to purchase.

This is not necessarily true. Of course, you shouldn’t send the wooden cabinets by airfreight obviously. However, sending a 40 foot container from China to North America or Europe is only about USD1,500-2,500 (excluding taxes and tariffs). So if you plan in advance, have the time to wait for a container and a good product, it might as well be big and heavy. It is often even more lucrative because many people are scared off by trading with larger items. It just needs more expertise and planning.

Conclusion

The tips mentioned above will help you avoid common mistakes most importers make when trying to buy wholesale from China and finding a good private label manufacturer. Consider the following tips and you will have less problems later on with your importing business. It’s in general a great idea to try to stay ahead of the curve. Look for things that not many people are doing. If you can spot a trend or find a real niche that is more difficult to move into, it provides tremendous value.

Analyzing how the Private Label Business Model Works Best

The concept of private labeling is not new in the manufacturing industry. In fact, it has been around ever since trade and commerce emerged. Most of the products you see out there in the market today are actually private label products which you do not know of since you never really cared to research on their production roots. A private label business model is a common practice in the world of manufacturing and you would be surprised to notice if it could be the perfect business option for you. There is a private/white label manufacturer for pretty much any product out there. Even Amazon itself is doing private label business this way.

What is a Private Label Business Model?

A private label business is the act of selling products manufactured by other companies under your own company or label. Have you noticed similar products out there in the market today which are almost the same except for their packaging and brand? Those are most likely private label products. Obviously, there has to be an agreement between the ODM (original design manufacturer) product owner and the private label business before the latter is able to acquire and be authorized to rebrand and repackage such product/s.

Popular e-commerce websites such as Amazon and eBay are homes to a lot of businesses selling private label products. You can check this yourself by visiting any of these virtual stores and search for a specific item which is currently trendy and is very marketable. The search results will present multiple products being sold by different merchants. If you observe closely, the items presented vary in terms of price and packaging but if you read the product specifications they are one and the same. These are surely private label products.

Why does the Private Label Business Model Work?

Consumers are always open for options and selling private label products simply gives that possibility. Besides, having different brands instead of a lone dominant brand is always proven to be healthy for the market economy-wise. On behalf of original design manufacturers, they are able to rake in sales by allowing these private label companies to purchase their products and market them as the latter’s own private label products. Even without their brand getting recognition, ODM companies are able to sell their products with lower manufacturing costs by escaping the marketing and advertising expenses.

A private label business model is a win-win concept for both ODM companies and private label businesses. If these private label companies will excel in selling their own private label products then the ODM companies will still indirectly gain from these since the private label companies cannot deny their manufacturing origins. In fact, a private label company can work harmoniously with an ODM company and both draw success from their respective work.

The private label business model is perfect for products which need branding and new approach. Even if you’re already selling branded good, go out and create your won label brand from what you have learned as described here by the Financial Times. These days, you can rarely see a product out there in the market which is totally unique and without any counterparts. A generic product with literally no market experience can be transformed into a fresh item via private labeling as long as it is done with right advertising, branding and packaging. Consumers will become curious and be enticed to buy this new product not realizing it is only a revamped version of the generic one.

Dealing with Private Label Manufacturers

If you intend to start selling private label products then you need to work with a private label manufacturer or an ODM company suitable to your needs. First and foremost, you need to conduct research on your potential customers to know what they want and understanding their purchasing power before finding your potential private label manufacturer. Once you know the product you want to sell and with a solid private label business plan then it would be easy to find a ODM manufacturing company you can work with to create your own design.

Original equipment manufacturers or ODM companies can easily be found at trade shows and networking events as they normally showcase their latest products in these places. Try talking to several ODM companies before making your choice instead of settling with the first private label manufacturer you can talk to. After making a choice, talk them out regarding patent and licensing for products you will purchase from them. This move will not only give you ownership of your private label products but also protect them from competitors trying to market similar products.

Private label manufacturers have different terms and conditions when dealing with private label businesses. You need to have all of these sorted before signing any contract with them which you might later regret due to a single term or condition in which you cannot agree on. Have an open communication line and discuss with them your private label business plan so they can understand how and in what aspect they need to support you to altogether form a harmonious business relationship.

Smart Manufacturing Business Ideas: How to Start and Scale

Growth is always the common goal for any company in the world of manufacturing. Manufacturing business ideas always consider long term visions on how a company should progress in the long run. A lot of companies who start out as a white label/private label company always look forward to improve and become an OEM company with original products instead of relying on other companies to create products for them to market.

We all know the manufacturing industry is a tough market and competition is really tough. However, this does not mean moving up the ladder is not possible. With the right tools, strategy and a stroke of luck, you can always transform your small scale manufacturing business into a major OEM manufacturing company. In this wiki article, we will provide you manufacturing business ideas on how to properly do cost estimation when upgrading your small scale white label business into OEM operations.

Deciphering White Label & OEM

White labeling products is the act of acquiring existing manufactured products and then rebrand them as if they are their own while OEM goes through the entire manufacturing details as the latter is trying to create a product from scratch. Both terms are easily misinterpreted from each other because some industry professionals are even confused of properly defining these terms and provide wrong information out there in the internet. The Economist has a piece on this. Sorting through any manufacturing business ideas, you should be clear about that difference.

Obviously, white labeling is a cheaper route compared to being an OEM company. It is widely regarded as a low cost entry point for startup entrepreneurs into the world of manufacturing due to its simplicity by design. As long as you have some funds to acquire existing manufactured goods and then spend some cash on the rebranding or redesigning these products, you are already a step forward the white labeling option in manufacturing. White labeling is definitely a low investment manufacturing business idea.

With the OEM option, it is a lot more expensive as you have to spend for the product development process, more overhead expenses and you have to keep in mind your business is designed for high quantity manufacturing. If you are seeking for a small scale manufacturing business, being an OEM company would not be suitable for you. This is why most OEM businesses start out as a white labeling company who eventually moved up the ladder after achieving several successes and victories with their white label products.

Costs to Consider when Shifting towards OEM

1. Product development

Now that you are a full-time original equipment manufacturer (OEM), you are now solely responsible for the product development of all your products. From design conception all the way up to the end of the production line, the costs involved within are your company’s own responsibility. Product design and development is a lengthy and tedious process. Not to mention the costs which accumulate from one step to another. All these costs will pile up and if your company is not ready to face it then I would strictly advise for you to stick with white labeling.

Product development starts off on the product design. From a simple idea, this design will be developed into a full 3D prototype which is the actual representation of the product before it hits the production line. Designing a product will require help from graphic designers from sketching the product up to creating a 3D design on the computer. All of your inputs and specifications are incorporated on this 3D design and not simply the aesthetics side of the project.

Depending on their level of skill and expertise, graphic designers are professionals with an average rate of $17/hour in the US. This would be too costly for your company but if you are smart enough, you can outsource these services to people outside the US for a cheaper salary rate. By paying $400 up to $700 a month, you can already hire a decent freelance graphic designer who can provide you the right skills and expertise to get your graphic design needs.

The more expensive aspect of product development is in the prototyping process because it is a trial and error method which could be done once or could be repeated several times until the desired results are achieved. Prototyping can be costly because failed prototypes are still expenses and you still need to pay for the materials and services spent on them. The back and forth process can be time consuming and time means gold in the manufacturing world.

2. Overhead expenses

Your overhead expenses will clearly increase since you now have graphic designers and other manufacturing professionals on board unlike in your white labeling days wherein there is limited work and staff needed. You are no longer a small scale manufacturing business and you should expect the additional costs which comes with this business development. Always consider your overhead expenses as part of moving up the ladder.

Even if you are only making sure you are staffed in all departments of manufacturing, you also have to check whether you are overstaffed of not. You have to make sure you are paying employees who are necessary to your OEM business and that you have maximized their efficiency levels for your own good. Paying the right number of people with the right set of skills and expertise will definitely pay off for your company in the long run.

3. Packaging and labeling

OEM businesses are mostly in charge of packaging and labeling their products. This is a crucial process which also plays a part for your marketing schemes. Low investment manufacturing businesses tend to outsource this process to packaging and labeling experts but depending on your capabilities you can take on this process yourself. Custom product packaging expenses can either be cheap or costly depending on the type of packaging you are going for. Simply make sure the packaging expense is rational towards the functionality and design of your packaging option.

Aside from packaging, labeling is also another aspect where your manufacturing costs should be allotted. There are a lot of companies out there who can assist you with labeling and certification of your products. These companies will run production tests and quality assurance methods to make sure your product passes international quality standards and be marketable for consumers. Some taxes are also incorporated as part of acquiring product labels and certification seals.

4. Mass production

Keep in mind you are no longer a small scale manufacturing business catering to minimal orders. As a standard OEM company, you are expected to produce original items which can be delivered to several stores and marketing outlets. Your production mode changed (here is more on the different production modes by the BBC). As your production quantity rises, then so will be your manufacturing costs towards your contract manufacturing companies. However, you must also be practical in producing the right number which is suitable for your market and not overproduce wherein your products may end up being stale. Manufacturing business ideas are often complex and convoluted, but they are often about the principles as outlined here.

What are the Certification Requirements for Private Label Products?

Marketing private label products has been a thing in the manufacturing industry. More and more businesses continue to resort to private labeling instead of creating original concepts and ideas since it is feasible and allows them to save time and money. Private labeling is the act of bringing a product on to the market under their own brand whereby the OEM company is the original manufacturer of the product from where it is purchased from along with its rights. However, white the design is taken from another company, the seller is still responsible for the certification requirements for private label products.

Private labeling is completely legal as long as both parties have agreed on its own terms and conditions. However, there are certification requirements involved before a product can be sold in the market. Requirements such as private label application is also necessary to confirm the product’s authenticity. The main reason for certification requirements is to verify private label products since they are identical to original versions already out in the market today. The certification will confirm the product are authentic under a private label and not simply fake versions of the originals. Make sure you’re not infringing anyones intellectual property rights (IPR).

There are a lot of organizations out there which provides certification to products but not all of these certifications or labeling aren’t recognized internationally or could only be limited to a scope of products. However, any form of certification could further approve of the product’s quality and its efficiency. Different industries look for specific certifications with regards to quality to ensure consumers out there of safety and quality.

QPL List

A usual certification standard for products is the QPL list. The Quality Product List (QPL) is a listing for products who have met certification requirements categorized under respective specifications. The intent of this product listing is to differentiate private label products from the OEM ones already on the QPL list. It’s often used by by large companies and government agencies, see Lockheed Martin here for instance with their standards.

If the product is already listed under the QPL list, then it no longer have to undergo various product testing and other standard checking procedures. However, private label products are simply listed in the DLC list with the exact performance info as their original OEM versions unless the private label company themselves request for a different rating which would be a part of a different certification process with additional fees.

To make sure private label products on the QPL list are placed in the right category, the parent product from where the private label product is based from is included in its product info. However, most private label companies do not like the association to give their private label product an individuality which is why they apply for a separate certification process and undergo the necessary tests to make sure their product will be listed on its own as if it is an OEM product.

Premium Certification & Listing

Premium classification is another certification process for an additional product test report. At an additional fee, you can add the premium classified label on your product and this will certify your product passed additional quality checking procedures. The exact label depends on your product category. One example is mentioned below as DLC Approval, which simply means the product passed additional and voluntary standards. Another example is the the German TÜV and GS (Geprüfte Sicherheit) marking. Private label companies look forward to add certifications to their products because it serves as a validation to entice customers to buy their products. Customers are easily convinced when seeing certifications and labeling which is why the additional fee for premium classification is no big deal.

Example: DLC Approval

One of the example of a  premium certification we see in products particularly under the lighting or electronics industry is the Design Light Consortium (DLC) certification requirement. Have you noticed light bulbs and fluorescent lamps bearing the DLC approved sign or being DLC qualified on their packaging? Basically, that is a standard certification requirement for private label products.

Mandatory Third Party Certifications

Aside from the more recognized certification and labeling agencies, there are also a lot of third party certification companies who provide quality control procedures and product testing for private label companies. These third party certification companies must be officially recognized in an international level and still be useful for private labeling companies for certification and labeling. Not all private label goods come with the required certifications such as FCC, CE marking and so on. Their approval or certification seal may not be of high regard but consumers but they assure the quality assurance and technical standards on a basic level. Click here to read more about common certifications to look out for.

Conclusion

Private label certification is a prerequisite in order for you to be able to market your products legally. The certification process can be lengthy depending on the variety of your product but fortunately there are certification companies out there who can assist you and help speed up the process. Often private label manufacturers already have some certifications for the products they sell. Certification and labeling is not only a legal prerequisite but it also serves as a modifier for product quality. Customers these days always look forward to seeing certifications and labels as their basis whether to but the product or not.
